or 2 chains and continue withe the line some patterns ask u to do the chains and then turn.what is the difference??

how do u alter the measurements...i followed a pattern for a 2 yr olds hats.it fits me and not my 2 yr old.i had to undo the whole thing.the same happened with the poncho its just that it was too small for her.there was no gauge mentioned...so i kept measuring her every 2 rows (which she hated)what is the right way?

i made a scarf with a modadea zing yarn( a white and a black..2 yarns together) i am almost finished but its now that i realized i have missed a few stitches here and there (when i stretch it does not look awkward)i dont want to unravel the whole thing as this would spoil the yarn.is there a way to fix it??

  1. it really doesn't matter whether you work the turning chain at the end of a row or at the beginning of the next row - both put the turning chain in the same place.

maybe the hat you crocheted was meant to be felted (shrunk) then it would have been small enough to fit your daughter.

there is free downloadable software for skirts/ponchos at www.greatknitdesigns.com that will allow you to design and print patterns for all sizes/yarns for either knit or crochet - you could always give that a try.

if your scarf looks too odd and you are really not happy with the way it looks then there is usually no other way than unravelling it and starting again - you need to really remember to keep count of the stitches in every row so that it is even all the way.

if you need anymore help then you can always email me.  Hope this helps and good luck in your future projects.
