I have been dancing for a while but my legs are very unflexible.?

i think thts pretty strange since im a dancer with unflexible legs. what are some really good stretches that will help me do front/side kicks better and splits? please help!! thx!

  1. Sit on the floor and with legs in a V shape and stretch out towards each foot as far as possible then widen legs and stretch there and lean forward till you can do the splits. good luck and remember to stretch long and slow for best results

    as for the flexiblility, honestly keep stretching. do the stretches you do in class (because you know them better and you will be more familiar with them). stretch every morning and evening. remember not to...

    bounce; it tears the muscles!

    get frustrated; your body is amazing, give it time!

    don't push yourself too hard; sometimes getting one inch closer in one day is worse then one inch in 2 weeks.

    or take gymnastics or ballet

  4. Ive been dancing since i was 3 and im now 16. i stretch all the time and i still cant do that splits and my kicks are still far too low!

    some people just arnt bendy but if you are...keep practicing and you will get there eventually!

    If not, you can still be a great dancer without being mega flexible
