  1. THE OFFENCE IS AIDING AND ABETTING THE USE OF A ROAD VEHICLE WITHOUT INSURANCE

YOU WILL RECEIVE 6 POINTS AND AN IN10 ON YOUR LICENSE THAT REMAINS FOR 10 YEARS!

GUESS WHO'S PREMIUM IS GOING TO GO THROUGH THE ROOF!

  2. it is upto you're friend to take care of his/her own insurance,

    you've not  commited any offence,

when you're mate borrowed you're car  they lied to you and said they had insurance,

you'friend however  will  probably get 8 points and a fine

don't take the wrap for it

  3. Andy T is correct, you have lent the car to someone without ensuring they were insured to drive it, unfortunatley you are liable in the eyes of the law.

  4. So, you have let another person borrow your vehicle for Social, domestic and pleasure use without them being a named driver on your policy.

It is their responsiblity to ensure that they are insured whilst driving the vehicle, if stopped section 59 could be used and the vehicle taken to a storage yard, you would have a certain amount of days to pay the fine before it is crushed.

I have checked in the DSA book for you, and the penalty for driving without insurance is a £5,000 fine, 6-8 penalty points, but carries NO inprisonment. This only applies to the driver.

There is nothing in writing to state that you will be at threat.

  5. you will get the same as him...  did you know that if you drove someone s car and "thought"...you were not  insured.... even if you were insured  ...they can stil do you ...   like  thinking something bad is a sin...

  6. you lent it,he borrowed it

  7. Andy T and Craig S are right, it's a serious offence to permit someone who is uninsured to drive your vehicle.  Could be points, could be a hefty fine, probably it will be both.

EDIT The offence is Aiding, Abetting, Counselling or Procuring the offence the other person commits. It IS your responsibility to ensure that the driver is insured and possesses a valid licence.  6 - 8 points plus hefty fine.

  8. Hmmmm. grammar?

  9. Hi

You will get points on your licence for aiding and abetting driver to drive with no insurance .

Your insurance will go up on next renewal

    You will get a fine

If you have had your full licence for lest than 2 years they could even make you take test again !

  10. You mean he borrowed your car and he didn't have insurance? Well he was driving without insurance then he'll get done for it, nothing to do with you. You didn't force him to get into your car and drive, he did it on his own accord.
