Is breaking up my exercise through out the day still effective or should I just do the 40 minutes all together?

  1. It's better to work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time.

  2. That depends how you exercise (palates, jogging or chair yoga), how intense are you working out for ten minutes and what you're trying to achieve?

Do you do a warm up? Stretch? Cool down?

IMO, a 10 minute workout is a bit short, but a single 40 minute workout once a week is too much, too seldom.

  3. I've noticed that short duration , high intensity workouts (running mainly) work better for me when i'm trying to cut calories.

I'm not sure what intensity you're dong your 10 minute workouts with, so i cant really help.

  4. It depends what type of exercise - high or low intensity. 40 minutes low or 4 x ten minutes high.  Try and vary it.

  5. I went to a dietitian just the other day, and she told me that it's better to work out for a longer period of time, because for the first 30 minutes, your body is just burning sugar and carbs. After those 30 minutes, it starts to burn fat.
