Its really strange one second i am extremely happy, bubbly and talk-a-tive and the then next moment i dont want anyone around me. I was listening to a song that i have heard a million times then i just started crying (while walking down the street). It is so horrible and i hate it. My moods/emotions are all over the place. What could be the cause of this? (Btw im 17 and no it is not that time of the month). Thanks!

  1. PMS.  And that stands for pre-menstrual syndrome.

  2. The two things that I have heard of that can cause a person to be overly emotional are pregnancy and depression.  Once pregnancy is ruled out, talk to a counselor or doctor to find out if you could be suffering depression.  Depression is nothing to be ashamed of and there are many ways to treat it.  If you discover that you are pregnant - well the ups and downs aren't going to go away for awhile.

  3. Learn some stress management skills. Cause life happens.

  4. Well, it could be a number of things.  It could be your age, seriously.  When I was 17, I was the moodiest mare one minute, and the life and soul of the party the next, no one knew whether they were coming or going around me!  (I haven't changed much, either, and I'm 32 soon!)

Do you have anything traumatic or stressful happening in your life at the moment, or did something happen recently that could have subconsciously got you feeling depressed?

Everything from hormones (not necessarily the time of the month) to changes in the weather can affect our moods.

If you feel concerned about it though, or you don't appear to be feeling any better after a week or so, I'd visit your GP/doctor and just mention it.  What can it hurt?

  5. are you having any personal problems? Like family or friend wise?
