I have tried: crank baits, rubber worms, minnows, rubber frog, rubber lizard, and broken back jerk baits. I see tons of large size bass and gar. I welcome any suggestions. Thanks!

  1. try jigs with trailers and spinner baits

i'd try the spinner bait first. try 3/8 oz.,1/2 oz. and 1/4oz. use them with and without a trailer. different weights for different depths

another good "search bait" is a "rattle trap."

    spinner bait 1st

    rattle trap 2nd

    jig 3rd

i bet you'll hook up!! tight lines!

how about letting me kow how it goes

  2. seems like u know wut u are doing. You are using the correct baits. I don't know how big this body of water is, but chances are that if u can see the fish they aren't going to bite. The fish are probably over fished and just aren't going to bite(then again that is if the lake is small). Try getting 20-30 yards away and fish parrell(both left and right) to where u are not just straight out

Don't forget i's fishing not catching

    Don't get discouraged keep trying

Let me know where u are and how big it is so we can go further

  3. I think that fishing parrelel to the shore line is the key to pit fishing. Try to fish 20 at least yards off to your left always casting to different distances away from the shore and walk to your left continuing to cast ahead of the direction headed. Always remember to never let the sun be on your back, casting your shadow into the water will always scare the fish off. Try and wear clothing the colors of the dirt surrounding you blend in and dissapeer. You are trying to catch fish that can not see you, if the fish do see you they are forced to move off an area they have staked to feed from. Undoubtedly they will also face into the wind feeding off of what blows in. so! Try using floating baits like dragon flies, frogs and also lizards. With lizards I actually hit the dirt with the cast and let the dirt and sand bounce into the water and it seems to work as a dinner bell and the fish move right up and stare at it. wait a few seconds and then jiggle your rod and move the bait just a little and never ever walk up the side (up against) the water you move into the visual horizon of the fish. fish from ten feet back at least (even 20). key here is when you hook up and you willwalk back to your right stretch the line and force the fish to come into shore back where you have already been, keeping the area ahead of you unspoiled.
