I have been getting unemployment for a few months.I took a job this week and want to quit.Can I keep benefits?

This job isn't working out. Will I lose my benefits now that I started this other job? It is a job I don't have experience in and I don't like it.

  1. No. You can only get unemployment if it was involuntary and not for cause (not your fault). You can't get unemployment if you quit a job. It does not matter that you were previously fired. Only your last job counts.


  2. No, if you aren't working the job, you don't get the benefits.

  3. If you quit, you lose your benefits. But, if you get fired, you keep your benefits.

  4. Probably not, if you quit - yes if you get laid off from this job.
