I have been given the opportunity to attend a European trip. How can I get a sponsor in such short time?

Because of my academic performance in high school and first semester of college, I was given the opportunity to become an International Scholar Laureate. Scholars throughout the United States are given the opportunity to travel around the world attending conferences related to specific topics areas and meet important figures around the world. This trip is very expensive and I have very little time to send a check to Admissions office. Does anyone have any sponsorship ideas, or fund raising ideas so that I can be able to attend this unforgettable conference? Thank you for your ideas and I look forward to responding to them.

  1. Go around to your small businesses around your town and ask people to sponsor you, I'm sure someone will.

  2. I had something similar years ago.  I sent around an e-mail to all my family and friends explaining the amazing opportunity I had but that I need $5000 dollars for the trip.  I asked everyone in the e-mail if they would make a donation to help offset the cost of the trip.

In the end, I raised about $7000, even my poor friends gave me like $20 to go, which was amazing.  I actually ended up spending only $4000 and donated the rest to charity.  When I got back I also sent everyone and update on where I went and what I did and how their money was spent.  All my donors were thrilled and I had a great experience.

    Good luck in your efforts.

  3. if your academics were gd; then try for university scholarships; they might help to bring the weight down

    Cheers!!!

  4. contact big companies in your area, show them written materal about what you have been offered,  notify the local tv and radio station to do a story about your trip...ask your school what past applicants have done
