I have been had a brown discharge since last monday what is going on?

I have had a brown discharge since last monday and this monday I started to bleed a little bit.I put Tampon in and when i put a Tampon in it is very uncomfortable.When I use them before they were never this uncomfortable.When I take out the Tampon there is alot of brown discharge on it an.d a little bit of blood.Can someone tell what is going on? Thanks

It is old blood that was not purged during your last cycle.  Happens to me all of the time.  Nothing to be concerned with.

is it like a mucus type blood discharge, like kind of thick ...  how long since your last period ?
