  1. A doctor would rather see you now and reassure you that it's nothing to worry about, than see you 3 months down the line when treatment may be harder and more expensive.

  2. I definitely think you should see a doctor. I'm sure they won't think you are wasting their time. This is what they get paid to do. At the very least, it could stop you worrying, which in itself can cause headaches.

  3. You should see your doctor you would not be wasting their time but it may just be stress

  4. Stress can be a major problem, worrying about your mothers previous condition will make matters worse. We all tend to get a bit paranoid about our health and previous family history. I can only tell you of a problem that I had many years ago that as I was a bit depressed was a bit of a nightmare. I had headaches so bad that it used to mean that I could not drive or operate in my normal job. I went to the doctor on and off for about 18 months and he could find no reason for it, as he could not explain I lost faith in him and found an alternative the only difference being that I had to see this doctor during the day and she was very interested and very smart. As I had to see her in work time I was dressed for work I had only gone a couple of times when she said "if you want to cure your headaches change your job or your uniform" when I asked why she said ""your body warmer is tight under the arms and your arms are making it pull on the back of your neck, the pain killers you are taking are just masking the problem" since that day i have had one headache in twenty years instead of nearly everyday. All I am saying is look for the simple answer first as worry will make it worse. Also I would not worry about what happened to your mother as the problem has (please God) been gone for 15 years which should mean its not a big problem in the family. Good  luck. and good health.

PS: Although it has only been a week it would not hurt to see your MD as it would help put your mind at rest which in itself could ease the problem.
