I have been a Project Manager for 13 years. After this lay off, I am tired of Corporate America and now want to go back to school to become a teacher where my true interests lie. What do I need to do to become a teacher?

  1. Make an appointment to see one of the counselors at a college or university near you. That person should be able to point you in the direction your heart wants to go. Locate your transcripts and start sending out applications; you may also need a couple of personal and/or professional references.

  2. Check with the school where you plan to attend.  Determine what classes you need.  You will need to choose a major and a minor and take education class for the level of school you want to teach.  Most places you need a bachelors degree
