I have been in the hospital 2 times in the last 5 days for early contractions/false labor. Any advice? ?

I am 33 weeks pregnant and have been having what i thought were braxton hick contractions but they turned out to be real contractions but very minor. they have been treating me with fluids and a shot when i go in. Does this mean i am going to have my baby early? Has anyone experienced this before and if they have how were you treated? Oh this is also my first baby :)

I had them at 31 wks. and again at 35 weeks. They gave me a shot and sent me home with brethine pills to take on my own. They said the reason for mine was because I was dehydrated (which I couldn't tell) Being pregnant in this hot humid weather is not easy. Drink lots and i mean lots of water, and be sure to go to the doc or er for any signs of contractions, just to be safe for while. You don't want the baby to come this early. My doctor took me off of my meds and said it would be ok to have him after 36 weeks when his lungs would be developed and the proper weight.

Be very careful because the same thing happened to me with my first daughter at 33 weeks and docs told me it was just BH and that I'd be fine. She came the next day. She is healthy now....but we went through some obsticles in the beginning.. Please be careful!!

I had the same thing happen. My son was born at 38wks and funny enough labor never started. My water broke though. Make sure to drink lots of water. If the fluids are calming things down for you that might help.
