Question:

I have been issued a subpoena to testify as a witness in court. What will happen?

Im kinda nervous although I know I didn't do or see anything.....What will happen? Also Im under psyhchiatric care at the moment for severe anxiety and panic attacks and this doesn't help....any info is appreciated.

  1. You will be asked to tell the truth....not give an opinion.

    The Truth never changes and is easy to remember. A lie is the exact opposite...hard to remember and the story changes everytime you tell it.

Don't know what the issue is, whether it's civil or criminal, but you just go and answer questions.  Nothing to be nervous about.  If you are nervous for medical or other reasons, you can speak with an attorney that you hire beforehand.  Based on his advice, it may be possible to have the subpoena "quashed".

    Don't know the circumstances, but it may not be worth it to even try because getting your own attorney involved will be expensive and you'll probably end up having to go anyway.
