I want to buy this 1981 motorcycle, and after talking with the owner which now lives in another state but the Bike was left here in the state I live in at his friends house... When I asked him about the papers to the bike this is what he said to me. "The bike does not have a title. I checked with the DMV there in KY and anything '83 or older does not need a title. The bike is registered to me. When I bought it I simply signed a sales contract and that was enough to get it registered to me. " I'am not sure if he is telling the truth or not... And since it is Saterday here the DMV is already closed and will not be open again untill Monday... I'am just wondering if what he sayd is true or not or maybe even true... because if so I can put some money down on it today so he will hold ot for me untill Monday... So what do you all think about this??? Thanks.. James,

  1. I would be cautious about this one, as I have owned  motorcycles in the past, and as far back as 1947 I had a title for them, so unless there is that much of a difference in state laws, I would be very careful.

I am going by the laws where  I live, in Ohio.

  2. whats the rush.... im sure there are better bikes to be had with the right papers....couldnt be much money i brought a 91 for a 100 buck spend another couple hundred on new oil seals sprockets and chain and got new clutch plates and it had papers come with it so i spend like 300 buck for a bike..... so whats the price of this one 25 buck im sure its not much over a 100 is it.. come on man find another bike and get the papers.... dont watse your money on this bike you will not be happy
