  1. I like to use Craigs List online (for your specific town) but just be skeptical of what you find...

  2. What type of Resume are you using, because if your using a CV format, your using the wrong format. CV are for career professionals or for Acedicmics and at 16 you won't have enough to make a CV format work. I suggest a combo/hybrid of the chronological and functional formats. Put a Summary of Qualifications on top and list your top 5 skills. List any volunteer work as you would employment, just make sure you document that it is volunteer work experience. Next list your education, highlight any classes that are marketable skills. You can include interest or hobbies, but make them sound as constructive as possible. For more on writing a Resume outline to formats visit http://www.bestemploymentresources.com. Once you have a well written resume you will be able to have a lot more offers.

  3. You aren't trying hard enough, or you have a bad track record.  Why are you just finishing school in August?

Follow up on your applications.  Read the want ads and look for help wanted signs.

  4. Your age and the bad job market are the larger part of the problem. Plus, you just want a temporary job. Don't give up.

Rework your Resume to see if that helps. Talk to more people locally. You need to network.

  5. If it's your first job, then it will probably take some time before someone gives you the chance at employment. It took me about 6 months before I landed my first job, and I got paid 6 dollars an hour! Just keep putting in applications, even to places you don't really WANT to work. You could atleast stay there for a while, just to have that experience on your resume.
