I have been looking for a roommate for the last 2 months and I'm not getting any bites? Can someone please help me and tell me what I am doing wrong or what I can do to get a good roommate? My ad is below and I am asking $600/mth. and that includes EVERYTHING!

Townhouse located in Charlotte, NC 2 miles from Lake Wylie and in walking distance to Rivergate shopping center. The home is also only 3 miles from both 485 and I-77. You will have your own room, office off of the bedroom and a private bathroom. I am fun and easy going, I work and like to have a good time. I am quiet and respectful and I ask the same from a roommate. I do have a pet so for right now one is enough and I am asking that whoever moves in does not have any pets. The room comes furnished or unfurnished. Feel free to email me at if you have any questions.

  1. You should spell out what EVERYTHING is. Is it rent and utilities, or rent, utilities, satellite, internet, food, etc. Might make a difference.

  2. Where are you putting the ad? Try Craigslist.org. Also contact the housing office of local college or University and ask if they have a housing list that you can post on.

  3. The rent is to high for just that amount of room. I pay that much for a 3 bedroom apartment with a full basement. try lowering it a bit and see what happens. Why would you charge the same price for furnished or unfurnished? Unfurnished should be less. charge more for the furniture.

  4. people might think it is too much to pay

  5. That is quite pricey, try lowering the rent.
