I have been married for 5 years to a US citizen. have two kids with him. im a resident of the US?

we lived there for almoust 2 years, and got station overseas. my question is. can i still apply for US citizenship even tho we are not in the US.?

  1. No.  You still need to fulfill the residency requirement:  three years as a permanent resident and no trips of greater than six months in that time.

    You should also ask an attorney whether your green card is at risk as you have been out of the country for so long.


  2. Well, do you have a green card, or  not. If you're not a legal permanent resident, and you didn't say you were, then you're not eligible for citizenship.

  3. yes you can.you are not out of there by choice but to be with your husband

  4. Im not sure i think so, but i think they already changed the law and now only your child can get dual citizenship.
