I have been notified that I had won a yahoo lottery prize (1,200,000 GBP ) from yahoo lottery , is it true?

On June ,9,2008 , I have been announced as one of the 12 top lucky winners and my account is randomly selected to get cash prize from yahoo lottery and won a prize money of (1,200,000 GBP) for the month of June 2008 and the cash payment will be released to me from regional branch office in JAKARTA, INDONESIA . So please tell me if it is true and how can I verify it

  1. It's not true, it's spam.  I get it daily.  If Yahoo were giving away money, why would they do it from Indonesia?  My point exactly.  They will ask you personal information and use you.  Don't give them any personal information.

    Why would an American company run an International lottery that paid out in British Sterling, as opposed to US Dollars?  Why would they give $2.5m to so many people each month?

    If Yahoo! truly wanted to run a promotion like this, they could offer much smaller prizes and still create a buzz.  But it would make no sense at all for a company to hemorrhage this kind of money each month to random people.

    Finally, why would a British bank use Jakarta to send out money?  That doesn't make any sense either.

    So yeah, it's yet another fake lottery win.
