  1. small airport, but  westport is quite cool

  2. Very Catholic part of the country. It is, after all, a Marian Shrine, where someone saw a vision of something religious over a hundred years ago.

  3. Well Knock Airport is near the Knock shrine so you could get a house there. It's a lovely area to live in, the town is a tourist town although it's not overly busy!

Knock Airport is the best airport to fly from so I guess it's the best to work for! It's not busy at all and it's very easy to get from check in to the plane!

  4. Irealnd is a really nice place!!  you need to find a nice place though!!  my parents are from sligo and galway- surrounding counties. I love when they live. have a look around!! i know places such as boyle, westport, claremorris etc.  i will ask my parents and get back to you! x

  5. Knock is a lovely area of Ireland, close to the Eastern coast.  Dublin and Dun Leery (wrong spelling I know).  The big Rugby ground is close by and if you are interested in horse racing, the Curragh is only a bus ride (on CIE) away.

Good luck and go and kiss the Blarney stone sometime!

  6. knock is very very remote. its a fairly traditional backwards Irish town.beautiful but backwards esp if you come from america-itd b a huge culture shock.. google it and you'll get plenty of info.

  7. ye its a nice place.. nah not traditional really.. people are very friendly and knock itself is a holy place but its very modern in the surrounding areas just like everywhere else.. what people usually love when they move to ireland is how relaxing it is and how friendly the people are. everyone will say hello to you on the street and we enjoy a quiet drink in the pubs where everyone has a good owld chin wag

  8. like the previous posters have said knock airport is in a very remote part of the country (the poster MANCHESTER UK is completely wrong btw) , its about 10 miles from the village of knock and approx 5 miles from the small town of charlestown; the airport is basically lying smack bang in the middle of nowhere.

the two best towns within 30-45 minutes drive of the airport are ballina and castlebar without question.  Sligo and Westport would be well over an hours drive away
