  1. Should be.

I have been to the east coast a few times.  Cost of living is cheaper than Europe.  I can't imagine the west coast would be more expensive.

  2. $70K is a decent income, if will give you the ability to live a normal life with an average standard of living. If you are single or part of a double income family then you will be able to live above the average with some little luxuries. The average income is $50 - 60K.

  3. $70K AUD is OK in Perth, however it will not be enough if you want to live in the Pilbara, nor in the posh Western Swan River Suburbs of Perth.

Expect to lose about half in tax and Medicare levy unless your an Australian.

Expect to pay a lot for rent.

You will need a car to get around because public transport is infrequent, so expect to pay a lot for fuel too.

It will not be enough for a family, but it is good for a single apartment. A family needs 2 incomes to rent/buy a house.

  4. yes thats very good..my parents are on 50-60K in sydney..so i think 70K in perth is exellent...thats comfortable and very good if its the first year..imagine what it will b in 5 years. thats $1350 a week...yea definately a good start.

  5. where you from?

Did your employer apply work permit for you? How long does it take for it to get approval?

I am planning to work in Aus, so, I have some enquiries.

  6. Sure is and you should be able to live quite comfortably on that.

  7. ime also of to work there, i am going offshore but ive been offered a lot more than that, if you are also going offshore dont take less than 100k

ps i work as a rigger

  8. If you're already in the Australian tax system, no problems.  You won't be able to live in the best suburbs, but you won't be pitching a tent either.

If you're not from Australia, be aware of how the tax system works.  You'll say goodbye to 30% of that, minimum.

  9. It's a little more then the average income.

Perth can be an expensive city. It seems to be more expensive when it comes to things like your grocery shopping then Sydney / Melbourne. Things like transport seem to be cheaper.

Housing in Perth is as expensive as in Sydney, and rent is high due to high demand.
