I have been on the pill for 12 years, will it be difficult for me to pregnant if I come off the pill?

It kinda depends on how old you are, and how fertile you were before the pill.  The pill can wreak havoc and shut down your reproductive system completely and you will have trouble starting it again, or you could have no trouble at all.  Even if you have trouble starting your system again there are lots of docs and meds that can help you get going.  My cousin was on the pill for 15 yrs., went off in her 30's and got pregnant within 3 months of trying.

it could make it more difficult for a while until the hormones form the pill get out of your system. but one thing is for sure, if you stay on the pill, it will most likely not happen at all.

Hi. I was on the pill for just over 13 years, when i consulted my doctor about coming off the pill to try for a baby he told me to be prepared to wait up to 3 years b/c i had been on it for a while. I got pregnant the month after i stopped taking it and now have a 17 week old gorgeous boy :)

When I got off the pill I didn't have a period for 4 months until my gyno gave me a pill to induce bleeding.  That jump started my periods but I am still irregular and ttc. Some ppl get preggers within days without the pills so don't worry:) Good Luck!

I can only tell you from my own experience.  I had been on the pill for 15 years, came off it on my wedding day aged 33, had a period 4 days later and concieved straight away!  I too thought it would take ages but according to my gynae you have a brief period of high fertility as soon as you come off the pill.  Though as the other answers testify that does not happen to everyone!  Good luck.

i do think it takes your body longer to get pregnant if you have been on the pill for a long time.  BUT you can of course  still get pregnant as soon as your not protected ? so who knows ?

lots of women have went on the pill to get preg. because as soon as they come of the pill they are fertile, so maybe if you go off of it and relax it will happen.
