I have been enrolled in soccer camp this week, while at camp, i had really bad asthma, so my MOM took me to urgernt care, where i was seen by a doctor, had tests done, and got diagnosed with asthma, and got steriods..

So yeah..

So now i have a new inhalor that i HAVE to take TWICE EVERYDAY, and i have an inhalor to take when it gets bad.

it normally gets bad when i do sports and stuff*outside stuff too*, but my dad wont admit it, he just calls me "out of shape" and makes me do more and more till i am soo short of breath, and feel like im gunna pass out. :(

He will not admit that i have asthma, tho my grandmother has it, and is living a heathly life.

My dad is still calling me out of shape, and not fit, calling me fat.

but thats not the problem. the problem is I HAVE ASTHMA, which means i have BREATHING issues.

my dad is some big sports star, and wants me to be just like him. He says no to all the things like student body and drama, that i want to do.

he only lets me do sports, and still calls me out of shape,

plus he wont admit to my asthma.

what can i doo?

  1. Tell your Mom that Dad isn't allowing you to take your medication.  If she won't do anything about it, talk to your school nurse.  You need your medication, that is critical.

  2. your mom needs to handle this with your dad.  She needs to step      up in your defense and tell him that the diagnosis is real, it's true, and he has to accept it.  You can only do as much as your body allows.  by being involved in sports, it does help to strenghten your lungs.  but he has to understand that you do have this disorder, and it can be life threatening.

My husband in a fireman, and they saved a young girls life, who was allergic to a tree that was in their back yard.....the girl was near death when her parents arrived on the apron at the fire dept.  Had it not been that they could give certain meds. this 14 year old would have died.  I am only telling you this so that someone can tellyour dad just how serious it is.  Because I fear that since he in not accepting of it, that if you get in a real bind and need your inhalers, he will not give them to you, so make sure that you always have them with you at all times, in your pocket, some where on your body, always....never leave it at home.  And make sure that your mom sits down and talk to him, and when you have to go to the Dr. regarding your asthma....he needs to go as well.......you can live a perfectly normal and productive life having asthma.

  3. first, are you fat?

second, are you out of shape?

third, show him the doctors report.
