I bought a tablet laptop on ebay a week ago, and i paid trought paypal to the seller. However its been more than a month and i havent receive nothing, and havent gotten any emails from the seller.

is there anyway i can get what i paid back?

I called paypal and they told me he had cancell the account he had.

Now what am afraid is that what if he use one of those prepaid debit cards, and there is no name on the card, How am i going to track him down?

Do you think that if he buys something with the credit card he use on paypal they can track him down?

Can anyone help me.

  1. You bought the laptop a week ago, but it's been a month and you haven't gotten it yet?  What dimension are you in?

If you paid with a credit card, notify your credit card company, in writing, that you never received the item and that you refuse to pay for it.  They will investigate, and if the merchant is unable to provide proof that the item was sent and delivered to you, Paypal will eat the charge.

If you paid out of a Paypal balance or your bank account - I never do, for exactly this reason - you are probably screwed.

  2. It depends on how much you paid? i was recently on jury duty and convicted a man for ripping off 2 people who had bought computers. People who do this on ebay can either be charged with fraud or theft. If its a lot of money i would go to the police, they can check the registered users of all email addresses etc.

  3. Sorry to say, but you have no options.  Both e-bay and pay-pal have changed their policies regarding sellers who rip off people.  They no longer provide their famous 'buyer protection" policy after 30 days or once a seller closes accounts.

Many of us who used to use e-bay and pay-pal are now getting out.  It isn't like it used to be, both companies have gotten greedy and cut back on some of their policies.

  4. report him to ebay, they help
