I have no where else to run, can't afford a gym membership and cant get to a track or grass. Its my right knww and it hurts in the knee itself, not under the knee. It only hurts when I bend it or put a lot of weight on it. It just started...should I take time off until it stops hurting and start again or should I go through it? Once my body gets warmed up and I run like 1/2 mile its fine, until the end of the run it starts hurting again. I will go through it if it doesn't effect my knee in the long run. what do you think i should do? ps, i am not overweight at all, and i am in very good shape.

  1. I'd say try getting a new pair of running shoes if you haven't replaced them in over 3 months, because the wearing of the support in the heel of the shoe can lead to injury. Also I suggest taking a few days off and take a few ibuprofen if there is any inflammation because it will help with that.

  2. Check into your warm up routine.  You may be overlooking some stretching.  Gosh, my general reaction is run trough pain because the benefits from the endorphins alone are worth the pain.  You could consult a physical therapist one time if the problem progresses.

  3. This sounds like you're running too often and that your body doesn't get the chance to recover. Is your running technique also OK? Many problems are being caused by a bad technique.

  4. That happened to me last week and I use a treadmill so it's not because you're running on a road or anything. Leave it 2-3 days and it's back to normal again :)
