  1. You could try different running shoes, it is probably why your ankles are hurting.

  2. make sure that your running on a flat surface with good running shoes, have your toes facing the direction your running, and make sure your feet are hitting the ground from heal to toe. if they still bother you, take some ibuprofen an hour before you run and after when the pain comes back.

  3. Yep, that's what happened to me lo those many years ago.  After 2 weeks running, my ankles hurt and were swollen up.  So I took 2 weeks off until they got well.   I never had a problem after that.

    Good Luck

  4. I would just put ice on them and try to take it easy for a couple days. better to miss a couple days of running than to keep going and hurt yourself more and have to take more time off

  5. Take a week off, then go back to it.  In that week, go to a good running shoe store and get fitted for a pair of shoes that match your feet and running style.  Don't try to get shoes at a regular sporting goods store or department store as they are generally not as experienced or educated in these matters.

  6. Glucosomine.   Also, don't overtrain b/c you will hurt no matter what supps you take.  Take more rest and listen to your body.

  7. ibuprofen, but I wouldn't make a habit of it... Over time your stomache will start to hurt from over taking ibuprofen.  You can also Ice it your ankle off and on immediately after running.  That should reduce swelling without drugs.  Finally your best bet is to keep on keepin' on.  Your body will adapt to the running, so lace up your shoes, go for a run, rub some dirt on it, and do it again...

  8. Ice each ankle for no more than 20 minutes a day. This is what my track coach told me to do. Also if you have been training/running really hard for a while try taking it down a notch. Instead of pushing yourself really really hard just go for a nice easy jog every other day for like a week or two. If these things dont help you might want to consider new running shoes. A lot of the time bad running shoes can hurt ur joints and cause pain so you could go to a good shoe store and get fitted based on ur stride and feet shape. I hope this helped! Good luck :)

    The website is www.runnersworld.com

This will give you an idea of the proper fit.  Sometimes people have high arches, flat ones or their body alignment is not straight so when you run, you are multiplying pain.  Maybe you can figure out your problem with this website or maybe you need to see an orthopedic doctor.

Be sure to take well worn shoes into a reputable running shoe store so that they can see how you walk.

That line of no pain, no gain is for the birds.

  10. I think calcium is supposed to help with your joints/bones.
