Is there an insert I can use that will eliminate the heal blister issue. I've tried wearing two pairs of socks, but it only helped a little. Blister still flares up after an hour or so of running.

* Do I need to invest in a running shoe, or is there something I can do to my existing shoes to make them useable for running?

  1. The best thing you can do is buy running shoes. They don't have to be expensive, they just have to fit your feet. Don't necessarily buy them for price, but there're decent running shoes out there for $50. Go to a running store.

  2. i think this would be helpful...  you can use those foot gels. basically what you have to do is put it in your shoes and then you may see a difference. hope this works!!!

  3. you can use inserts, but best to purchase shoes and use them as designed.  a lot of research/design goes into the inside of the shoe to max protection.

  4. You can prevent blisters by lubing up your heels with KY or baby oil before you run.

  5. I agree with craig m but would like to add that running shoes are only good for about 600 to 800 miles before they start to break down.  This could be a cause of your blisters also.

Also make sure they fit your feet good. No slippage on the heels.
