I have sold textbooks on amazon. I just wanted to know how do pack a textbook? where do I find a box to send a textbook in? I thought if I went to the post office they may have materials to pack my books but I am not certain.

  1. You can purchase boxes at the Post Office, you can wrap them in brown paper (like from a grocery bag) and tape them up yourself, you can buy padded envelopes at the post office or at somewhere like Staples ... exactly how you do it is up to you.

Just remember to tell the Post Office you want to send them "media rate". That's usually quite a bit cheaper than first class.

  2. Good for you!  I always get much better rates (even with the commission taken away by Amazon) at Amazon marketplace rather than my university bookstore.

The post office will have packing materials, but they're kind of expensive, and I know Amazon only reimburses you for $3.99, so I'd recommend you go to a store that sells packing peanuts or bubble wrap, maybe your craft store?  My school bookstore sells packing materials/boxes, so that's how I get mine.

When I sold textbooks last year, I was lazy so I bought the big envelopes with bubble wrap on the inside.  The envelopes were around 2 or 3 or 4 dollars.

Remember to use Media Mail, it's the cheapest!
