Is that normal? I have 2 upper teeth that are going to be pulled down later and the braces rub against my gums. But is it still normal to talk differently since i got braces on?

  1. yeah, i have braces now. iv had them for about 9 months. for the first month, i talked so werid. kinda like i had something in my mouth. it goes away after a while trust me. there are worse things to worry about when it comes to braces :/ i hate these things!

    good luck!

  2. yep, you accustomed yourself to the discomfort of your braces.  it is a foreign item, after all.  you'll adjust

  3. Anything in your mouth influences the shapes you make.  Your mouth shape influences the sounds.

When the dentist had finished with you you will still sound different because of the amount of work undertaken.

Even now you can play with that idea by altering the positions you allow your tongue to go, or by pursing your lips.

  4. It's normal.  My boss at work called me Daffy Duck one time cause I talked funny.  You'll get used to the braces and will be able to start talking normal again.

  5. You sound the same to me.

  6. yes it normal you might talk w/ a lisp for about a week or so until you get used to braces in your mouth. thats what happened to me and finally i started to talk like normal

  7. Yes this is normal.
