I have been thinking about changing my bank, am with bank of america?

i was thonking about washington mutaual until wacchovia came along...who do you preffer and why?

I am with Bank of America but would change to Washington Mutual if I could. My husband is with Washington Mutual and loves them.

I've had Wachovia ever since they bought my old local bank years ago, haven't had any issue or complaints.

If you must insist on placing your savings in a commercial bank, then any amount under $100,000 is federally insured and that insurance also can be found at Savings & Loans.  For ultimate security however, check into joining a credit union which has restricted lending practices, especially high risk subprime loans.  Also consider looking for a bank with the most ATMs within the city and overall in the state.
