I have been to Lucerne, but never to Zurich. Which place do you prefer to visit?

One of my best friends from the US is visiting us in September. She is flying into Zurich and landing at 8 a.m., and I told her we would go to Lucerne. Should we explore Zurich instead? I have never been there, but if there is a lot to see, I would prefer to stay there for the day.

Lucerne is good ; but ; Zuric is great !!!

I would bank on spending 2 days and 1 night there, so you can explore a bit the first day, but your friend will be bushed from the journey (I know about long flights, I went to Vietnam several times before I married my wife!) and then explore some more the next day. Hope she enjoys her visit!

If you plan to stay in Zurich for at least a day , get a hotel room there in case your best friend is a bit tired or wants to freshing up after the long flight.  Then go sightseeing and then spend the night and take her back to your home the following day or whenever the two of you decided to return to your home.

Enjoy your visit with your best friend. I am sure no matter where you decide to take  her, she will just as happy...because she is with you experiencing these new places.

You can also take her to Lucerne on another day.
