I have been told i have an enlarged postrate?

I was getting pains in my groin and i though it was a stone passing, but my doctor told me, that my postrate was enlarged,

Can this be cured

  1. Your PROSTATE gland is enlarged.  Only by removal. It might affect the passing of urine, but otherwise it should be OK. Your Doctor might ask you to haev other tests.

  2. No, this can not be cured, but can be managed with medications. Medications are usually not indicated unless you are having problems with urination or maintaining an erection.  

  3. Discuss the fully with you Dr. a prostate gland enlarges with age but not always problematic, tumours can be benign or malignant. Will affect you flow and many other problems. If you do not wish to discuss with the Dr. ask for some leaflets you can read at your leisure.

  4.   Welcome to the club, not a very nice club I must admit but still a club where 1000's have joined before you .Unfortunately this is not a "curable disease"  once the prostrate has enlarged it cannot be reduced,your stuck with it,BUT it can be arrested,and teat4ed with meds,I take Finasteride,and Doxazosin. Doxazosin helps me with urination which is a great help when in a pub or travelling
