But surely your new employer can find out? Can't they just ask your current employer? My friends say it's common knowledge that you lie about what you're earning by about a grand!

  1. Don't lie about anything on your resume/application.  If your new employer discovers the lie, you will be immediately dismissed.

It is very easy for a potential employer to verify your current pay.  If you want to get a better offer, just ask for more.  Salary is often negotiable.

  2. I would not lie. If you do, and got the job your boss might find out and fire you. Then your boss might tell other people about what happened, and it might be hard to find a similar job. You might also have given a bad reputation.

  3. Employers are going to pay you what they think you're worth, and if it matters enough to someone to lie about their pay, then the employer probably won't think that person is worth paying a higher salary. Be honest and sincere and I'd be willing to stake money on it that the employer will take notice and reward appropriately.

  4. Don't start your possible new job off by lying. Many employers will ask for pay stubs to verify your wage. If you lie about anything on your job application they can fire you anytime after that if they wish if they find out. Don't do it. Whoever gave you that advice is a cad.

  5. its about where u work. at wendys, where i work. about 3 to 5 people give their resumes every single day,

the mangers do their job and it usually turns out that their lying about salarys and previous jobs.  my mangers spot every single one of them

so i dont think u can really lie about that

when i left my older job, i was the most serious worker ever.

for about 1 year 3 months i was the employee of the month 11 times. i was the back cash team leader, fastest runner up(this is a position in fast food) not running, lmao, i also was the fastest most accurate bagging employee, but i sucked at making the sandwishes. i also responded to 83.54 percent of emergency shift alway was 5 to 10 minutes earlier than my shift. never late and so on..

when i told my manger i have to leave the job coz im leaving the aria, as a courtesy in the last two weeks of my work he raised my salary 3 times, just like that. now i could add to my resume that i was raised 3 times+ all the previous pay raises.

with all that i know i will always be what a fast food place manger is looking for

in short u should suffer finding a job now, when u do. EARN your raises not lie about them
