I have been trying 2 update mobile info 4 a new phone same number. wont allow me to register for sms text.?

upgraded from a sanyo M1 to blackberry curve. same phone number. wont allow me to change email address for messaging nor register phone for sms text for same number.

that not the case i have no problem signing into my e-mail address through the internet
