I have a hurt knee that prohibits me from being able to do many jobs. I don't qualify for unemployment. I cant pay my bills anymore and I am very worried. I have applied to so many places but have not gotten hired anywhere. I have gone to so many temp agencies and said I could work any day, any hour and still nothing. What can I do now? Once Im homeless Im definitely not going to be able to get a job.

  1. Try Kroger grocery stores. They are union, so you will be guaranteed hours, and be protected against sudden layoffs, discrimination, etc., that can come from other places. Plus, you can apply quickly online to several nearby you. I've worked with a 72 year-old and several people who have physical (one missing a lung) as well as mental challenges and all are treated really well and the money can't be beat (I make over $10/hr., sorry if that's not enough!).

That being said, if you need services, you can call the United Way's 2-1-1 number to find all sorts of assistance, like where to go for clothes or food. Try not to worry, as it can make your health worse. This will pass, I promise, I've been there years ago...
