I have been wearing contatcts with a b.c. of 8.3 for 10 years. My new eye doctor changed it to an 8.7.?

Can he be right? I cant get a second opinion because my insurance wont cover it. Will this mess up my eyes?

  1. For the base curve to change that much is very rare. The Rx can change...but the cornea shape is pretty constant.

    If it is wrong, it won't mess up your eyes, they will just be so loose, they probably won't stay on your eyes to begin with.

    If you are getting them from him , they will exchange them if it is an error after trying the first pair.

    If you are getting them online...you better check what the return policy is first for times like that when it was the Dr's error.

    Perhaps you should call the Doc back first and just confirm that it is what he meant to write, and mention about the 8.3 for the last 10 years.
