  1. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate. I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:

  2. There are a lot of scams when it comes to debt problems.  Is this a non-profit credit counseling service?  Is it an NFCC member?  (http://www.nfcc.org/).

Or is this a company that promised to settle your debts for much smaller amounts?  Typically these companies take your payment and sit on it for at least 3 months.  Then they offer your creditors lowball settlement offers under threat that you will file bankruptcy.  A lot of credit card companies refuse to play and will just sue you.

If you are still getting collection calls, it sounds like this is the situation you have.  You may want to bail before you pay them too much money.

  3. There are definitely many scams on the net and this one tops the list.  I spoke to a man name Lee.  He was a pushy used car salesman type that only wanted me to sign the papers so "We can get started on this immediately".  After being pushed so far I decided to check up on the company and glad I did.  I found numerous derogatory responses to this company including the BBB.  The next time Mr pushy called back I told him I was not interested since they had such bad reputation.  He told me off by telling me that I did not know what I was doing and this was evident with my financial situation.  He told me that the BBB did not know what they were doing if they had such a bad record of their company.  He told me that I would die a poor man, said "have a good day and hung up.  I was just contacted with a man named Randall who said he was the supervisor.  I told him of my findings and the encounter with Lee.  He attempted the same defense as Lee.  I told him I did not want their services and wanted to make sure my information was erased from their system.  He did not want to hear what I had to say saying.  "Well if that is the way you feel I do not have time for you".  He did say I would be erased from the system I hope so since I fear that they may use this information for more scams.

  4. As stated by the above answer, you may have been taken.  check with your state attorney generals office about the company you hired.  You might just have to start over again.

And remember, the creditor does NOT have to agree to anything a debt remedy company asks for!!!
