I have bipolar,schitsophrania and I feel if I hurt myself it will help me forget about what i'm thinking about

  1. This will be a clinical answer. Please make an appointment soon with your psychiatrist. It is evident the medications you are on now are not working really well. Please let the doctor know what and how you are feeling, honestly. They can then readjust your meds. This is very important. You should then start to feel better.


  2. hurting yourself will take the emotional pain away- for a very short time and it will be back.  What I suggest you do is talk to someone, figure out what is going on that is so emotionally painful that you would resort to self harm.  If you can not do that, go to the ER, have yourself checked in to an inpatient facility so people can protect you while you have these thoughts.

  3. do you have any h obbies? something mindless to do?  you have to purpose to think about something else.  find something to do that relaxes you - paint or do music or whatever..    quit thinking about all this other stuff...

    you have tto make up your mind to quit thinking about it.  it has nothing to do with bipolar or whatever.


  4. I'm sorry that i don't have any answers for you but by asking the question itself shows that you understand that hurting yourself is not going to make any difference.

    It would appear to me that you need to speak to someone about whatever is causing you to want to hurt yourself. There is always a reason, why you hurt yourself, go seek help to understand what is driving you to this, cut out the harming bit and go straight to seek help.......

  5. Well, let me start off by saying, hurting yourself doesn't solve it. I used to cut, and sure, while i was doing it, everything else stopped. But after i was done cleaning off the blade, it was back again. It made me more depressed, and I had much more stress because i was always worried about someone seeing it. One of my classmates found out one day while we were in math class. And he just gasped and yelled " YOUR EMO!" well, no one questioned me, and thank god it was the last day of school, but i can tell you that i have feared him for a long time since that. I cant talk to him, look at him, or sit near him. and it doesnt help that i already hated him. some things that I do now, is i just sit there and listen to music, or just stare into space. it sounds boring but it helps. if u r bipolar, then it is just the syptoms u r feeling. and since u have schitophrania, then i would say defiantly do not hurt yourself, becuz u will be worried that people know and that not wat u need. trust me, when i have stress, i now just listen to this band called flyleaf, and trust me listen to wat they are saying and u will feel better. also this band as i lay dying is the most amazing thing i have ever heard, that is if u like screamo.
