  1. It is very difficult to achieve that level of lift without completely frying your hair. You would be better off going to a professional.

I went from black to golden blonde and my stylist did a series of 4 appointments with me, bleaching a little at a time with foils to gradually go lighter and I am very happy with the results.

A friend of mine, on the other hand, applied the bleach all over and came out with an orange disaster.

When working with bleach, professional is the way to go, at least the first time.

  2. your hair is going to frizz...

that being said, you're gonna need bleach and developer. DON'T use boxed bleah kits. they suck. go to Sally Beauty Supply (or one like it) and get powder bleach and 30 volume developer.

have someone help you. apply the bleach to your hair shaft FIRST, don't do your roots until the very end. IF YOU TRY to do it all at once your roots are going to turn out white/light yellow and the rest will be orange. not cute. my girlfriend just tried to do this and that's what happened to her.

let the bleach stay on for a little while, checking it by taking a section of hair and toweling off the bleach til it's the color you want. and if it's orange you want, shouldn't be too hard.

    condition like crazy!!!!!

****anytime you need to go lighter, you should really go to the salon though.

  3. I used to bleach my own hair, and it looked quite good, but it's really hard to do it really well. Go to a pro, I tell you.
