This the third time the mold just appears on the wall, from the floor up. The landlord makes up all kindfs of excuses, then when I don't buy it, he says, don't worry it won't hurt you. There is a lot of mold in the basement.

  1. Ignore your landlord's bias. Kill the mold with the proper chlorine(bleach) dilution. Stop it from coming back -12 times longer than bleach- with 'Pinesol' . Not the watered down, cheaper versions. Rugs, carpets and dead-air spaces only encourage mold to grow. Open the windows and take off cabinet doors to stop molds' prime breading grounds.

  2. Mold does hurt you over time.  You are breathing in those mold spores.  Is there anyone else in your town you could call, say the board of health?

  3. Black mold is a health hazard.  It can make you deathly ill.  If the landlord won't do anything about it, you may have to move.  If you do move, call a housing authority to report the problem.  If you are in the U.S. he will have to totally remove all materials in the house that have black mold, before he can re-rent.

  4. black mold is deadly and can cause all types of problems. You need to speak with a lawyer as landlords like this should not be allowed to own properties.
