brown spots on the leaves, and the root systems run throughout this one patch of my garden, and it'd be hellish to pull them out by hand.

What will kill all of these so they don't come back? Thanks

  1. Yes, you need Roundup for woody plants or hand pulling/chopping.

Roundup does not last in the soil, that's what makes it so widely used.  It degrades when it comes in contact with soil.

  2. Make sure your Roundup is for woody plants.  They make it for just weeds too.  That may be what you have.  You will need brush killer.

  3. Those aren't weeds...that's a salad. Seriously, most of what we consider as weeds are actually incredibly nutritious foods. I let the nettles, thistles, dandelions, and other edible weeds flourish in my yard and eat them on a daily basis.  Do a search for edible weeds if you're interested. With the rising food prices, you may be able to lower your grocery bill by letting them grow and eating them.

  4. Sorry to say that hand pulling is the safest and best way to do it. Chemicals are either ineffective or too general and kill more than you want. They are bad for the environment and will last in the soil tainting it for other vegetation.

  5. use a total broad leaf weed killer -use concentrate and make your own solution save some money-going to need to respray as new growth starts

  6. We have found that Crossbow will kill the blackberries.  It is like roundup, but more effective.  You should find it the same place you bought Roundup.  good luck.

  7. You need a brush killer thas has the chemical Triclopyr in it. Roundup will not kill plants or brush with a waxy leaf surface. Any home improvement store will have it next to where Roundup is sold. Good luck.
