I have body odor. Please help.?

Question

I am a 17 year old male and I am in my senior year of high school. I think I have body odor because of people's reactions at school.

One kid in my class who sits right behind me has his hand around his mouth/nose most of the time.

In another class, I sit next a girl and I think she tells her friends who sit next to her that I have bad odor because I think I heard the word "smells" a couple of times and her friends look at me. She is always slightly turned away from me rather than facing forward.

I am a bit overweight and a bit hairy but I always shower once at night and once in the morning.

I use Certain Dri antiperspirant at night and a deoderoant in the morning.

I use Irish Spring Deodorant soap when I shower. I shampoo my hair and make sure I have soap all over my body.

I put on body spray such as BOD or use a cologne.

I brush my teeth twice a day and I chew gum in class and make sure to drink lots of water.

I even put on body powder on my body to prevent sweating.

I put so much effort but the body odor is still their...

I am already a shy guy and this issue isn't making it any better for me. I am always paranoid.

What can I do?

awww thats sad you feel they are talking about you. go to your doctor to make sure and also just avoid the losers who talk about you they must have problems too. :)

i think you should go see a doctor. body odor shouldn't be that bad. and tell those insecure kids to leave you alone.

It doesn't sound like there is anything wrong with your hygiene.  The only thing that stinks here is the attitude of your classmates!  Just ignore these idiots and do well in your studies.  It sounds easier said than done. I have been where you are.  I was a late bloomer and a nerd.  When I started college it suddenly changed because the chumps and bimbos had their own non-respectable crowd.  Many of those losers dropped out and/or went to rehab.  Serious students were just left alone or made friends with other serious students.  Ignore the chumps and bimbos and get some exercise for your own self improvement.  Guys get in shape fast and on graduation day you can laugh at the bimbos!    Wait until you see them at a later high school reunion because the ones that got teased in high school are the ugly ducklings that become the swan.

I recently read that diet or certain illnesses may have something to do with it. Also, you must drink lots of water. Your doctor might be able to tell you what's wrong. Don't feel ashamed. If you know you take good care of yourself, that's all that matters. But get your doctor to do something about it.

I would definitely check with a doctor, but sometimes it could be the smell of your house.  I've been around people whose house smell a certain way, and even when they leave they carry that smell.  Does you house stay clean or have a certain stinch?  Because you live there, you may not notice it.  You may need to ask an outsider.

Do you really sweat a lot.. maybe it's not that at all maybe they are talking about the body spray you use...not the deodorant.. but some people hate it when women put on a lot of heavy perfume and some guys use really strong after shave.... Ask someone in your family and ask for an honest opinion if you have body odor..? Tell them you want to know the truth.. only the truth can help you.. or maybe you should floss your teeth and it's not your body at all and you should use mouth wash and there is no body odor but maybe bad breath... that is hard for yourself to detect.. another person notices that much sooner.. with body odor you can usually tell if you are sweating.. you seem to be doing enough to keep clean anyhow.. so either I think it may be bad breath or you overdose on the body spray.. if you already use deo, then you shouldn't need all that .. but ask someone else.. in your family.. their honest opinion... it's certainly not your fault as you keep good body hygiene..

You should check with your doctor to get a prescription deodorant or something of that matter. :)
