I have both AVG and Spyware Doctor on my computer do i need them both or can i get rid of one?

so just download mcAfee Enterprise edition and this is the best for safety coz it is itself safe....

just remove all other c**p and make ur PC breathe...

You should keep both as they find different things. I use AVG daily but needed to install spyware doctor to remove tracking cookies and trojans that were slowing down my computer. All anti virus and antispyware pick up different viruses so unless they are clashing with each other I find it good to mix it up a bit at times to check for anything AVG may have missed

Hi

Do you mean AVG free or AVG Pro? They are both very good but AVG free has some restricted features. As long as you do not experience any huge slowdowns while running AVG I recommend you keep it. If your computer is much slower after using AVG I suggest you switch to AntiVir.

I suggest you get rid of Spyware Doctor and install ThreatFire free and occasionally scan with Superantispyware free and Malwarebytes Antimalware free.

The reason is: Spyware Doctor's detection is not that good but their ThreatFire component is excellent. They have a free version of ThreatFire which is not restricted in terms of protection so you can use that instead.

Superantispyware and Malwarebytes Antimalware currently are the best against real-world malware and they both have very fast updates.

Personally I'd keep both because AVG generally gets rid of viruses and Spyware Doctor gets rid of spyware, tracking cookies etc.
