For those reading this and thinking this might be a good way to score a great deal on a cruise, beware - this might be a SCAM.

Cruise tickets are like airline tickets - they are made out to each person's name and are not interchangeable.  

If this is for real and you have travel insurance and cancelling due to illness or a death in the family, or because your travel partner cannot go for one of these reasons, then you have a chance to reclaim your money.  But if you're cancelling for a reason other than what is allowed by the insurance, you're out of luck.

If you bought the travel insurance, you might be able to get more of your money back.  But you cannot sell a cruise you booked for yourself.

You can't, unless you can find someone who has the exact same name as you.  The name on the cruise line manifest and your travel documents must be the same.  You'll have to call the cruise line and see how much money they will give you back.

Well, you are out of luck.  It is in your name - just like a plane ticket - and it can only be used by YOU.

  If you sell it to another person, they are going to be out the money and will probably sue you - except that a judge may rule they were too stupid for buying it in the first place.
