I have bought my dress and i am dieting and trying to loose weight but i don't think i will be able to loose it all in 2 1/2 months. I have a DD bra size and then my stomach is really big and drops. I need something that is going to kinda hold me in and make me not look so horrible. I already have to have them add more dress to my top because my bust is too big. The back is just ribbon but it is not all the way down and it does have a fabric piece that can go over it if it comes all the way up my back. Also, It is strapless. They don't carry plus sizes at the bridal shop either. Any help is AWESOME. I also have no idea what size i need. I wear a 26-28 shirt though.

Thanks

  1. Well I just bought my corset off ebay because I couldn't find anything anywhere. You might want to try there if all else fails. www.ebay.com

  2. David's bridal- they have tons of corsets and plus size girdles!

Just an FYI- you can't wear a corset for 8 hours- you may want to bring a pretty back of dress if your wedding gown starts to kill you at the reception.  Mine actually cut me it was so tight.

  4. Have the seamstress add a modesty panel to the lace-up back.  Its a piece of fabric underneath the laces so that the skin doesn't show.  That should cover any sort of girdle or corset you wear.  I agree that Spanx is a good brand.

  5. Well, you could go to http://www.castlegardencreation.com and get a corset. The quality is extremely high, and the most comfortable bodices and corsets I've ever worn. It sounds like you're the same size as I am. Maybe a size smaller. Definitely the same cup size.

Torrid also has some lovely corsets for us plus sized gals, though I don't know if they'd work well underneath a wedding gown.

There's also Plussizebridal.com, which specializes in bridal corsets. Here are some links to some corsets that might work well under a white wedding gown.

    http://www.plussizebridal.com/SearchResu...  Style X9001

http://www.plussizebridal.com/SearchResu...  Style XX9001, which is the same as the one above, but comes in the three larger sizes.

  6. so your dress kinda sounds like mine... and what i am doing is i got a pair of spanxs called higher power they come just under the bust so they wont show if your dress has some sort of a panel behind the corset lace.. they really suck you in and make you smooth!! hope this helps!! http://www.spanx.com/product/index.jsp?p... this is the web site for it you can order right from there

  7. Talk to the bridal experts where you bought the dress. They will have the answers.

  8. If the bridal store you bought your dress from cant help you I would be really pissed. I mean that is their job. I've never heard of a bridal store not being able to at least order you anything you want that they don't have in store. Try another upscale bridal shop.

  9. A bustier or corset top would work. Even if the back of your dress has ribbon, a strapless top will help a little. You could also talk with the dress people, I'm sure they wouldh ave an idea about what would work best and suggestions on where to pick one up. Good luck and congrats on the wedding.

  10. How about Spanx? http://www.spanx.com/home/index.jsp They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and suck you in and smooth over all lumpy bits :) You can get strapless ones, that come up to just under your bra so should fit alright under your dress. They come in all sorts of colours too - nude would probably be the best. They tend to take you down about a dress size too, which is cool!

  11. i can't understand if you got your dress off the rack or had it made. the best option for that type of dress would have been to add a "bone" at the front.  this is the same material that are in corsets except they sew it inside the dress.  you could have them put in a wire support and a thin pad for the breast area, too. that way you don't need any thing else underneath.

worst case scenario, get a really nice lacy corset. the back would look uber-s**y under the ribbons.
