I have braces but what if i took them off early and got retainers?

they want me to expose a tooth in the back that really isnt interfering with my braces and all my other teeth are out already. theyre delaying me braces time which is making me mad. why cant they just do whatever else that needs to be done. so i was wondering what if i didnt get that tooth eposed and just go to every appointment let them do and finish then take my braces off and get retainers. im thinking as long as i have the retainers on my teeth should still be straight

You cant do that as the teeth will have a higher tendency to relapse
