  1. yes

wen u first get ur braces off, u get these clear retainers for the top and bottom teeth, and then after those u get a metal retainer for ur top teeth and u get this metal bar put on the bottom front teeth to keep them strait...

trust me i had to go through all of this touture

    hope i helped

  2. put it this way i wore braces 2 year then they took them off and I wore a retainer two 2 more years i hated it i was teased` about it the whole time i was so glad when i was done with that good luck!

  3. yes, you will be getting retainers after braces.

I'm getting my braces off in exactly a month (sept 9, haha) and I know that i'll be getting clear retainers for both my top and bottom row of teeth.

the point for them is to keep your teeth in place. If you get your braces off, but don't put on retainers, then your teeth are going to go back to where they were. It won't happen overnight, obviously (as getting them straight didn't do that) but it WILL happen if you don't wear them.

As for the metal ones, I'm not too sure if you wear those as well later on... as far as I know, you wear either the metal ones or the clear ones, not one then the other. But I'm not too experienced with orthodontics, so I hope what I have said helps.

    Good luck!

  4. most of the time you do. it keeps the teeth aligned. I don't know how long you'll have to wear it for though. it varies person to person.

I'm getting my braces on thursday. the spacers are bugging the c**p out of me right now!

  5. yes you do get retainers,

    because after your braces get

taken off, your teeth are still

capable of retaining their previous shape.
