I have broken the t.v. and its not mine...HELP!!

Question

im house sitting for my neighbours while they're on holiday and for some reason the sky remote wont change the channel.

i changed the batteries but it still wont work when you press a button the red light comes on but it doesnt connect to the sky box.

id like it to be fixed before they get lol so i dont have to say i broke your tv lol

any ideas?

If it's a universal remote, it may need to be reprogrammed since the batteries got taken out.

Check your scart lead connections and make sure they are fully in.

Failing that switch everything off for a minute then switch back on again.

Well if the TV turns on and off and whatever it works. I would just say for some reason it isn't working when you tried it not say I broke it if you did nothing wrong to it or dropped it. Maybe they had the same problem with it before too.

It's probably stuck in TV mode. Press the Sky button. Failing that unplug the Sky box wait 30 seconds and then plug it in again. They need reset occasionally.

I'd have to suggest that you let the owner know about it. You can have it fixed and tell it to them when they arrive or you can just wait for their call or arrival and explain what happened. It's better to be honest than make them think nothing happened while they're gone. For me it show's responsibility and being true to yourself and to the owner. If they get mad, just accept it with grace. If not, then good.
