I have brown eyes my husband has brown eyes as well as our 3 daughters but my son has blue like the ocean eye.

Why does my son who was born last have blue eyes if my husband, my 3 daughters and I have brown eyes?

Well that means you and your husband both have ressive blue eye genes. so with each child theres a 3 out of 4 chance that there eyes will be brown, but a 1 in 4 chance they;ll have blue eyes.

Just kidding you and your husband have Bb genes where B- stands for brown and b- stands for blue, your daughters each got at least one B which is the dominant gene but your son got two b genes.

some freaky genetic thing, he got the reccesive gene. maybe someone in your family had blue eyes. count him lucky, blue eyes are gorgeous. lol

Don't be surprised if your son's eyes start becoming more brown as he gets older. My sister has blue eyes but she married a man with brown eyes. Her oldest and youngest sons have brown eyes. Her middle son started with blue eyes but they became hazel. The only difference between his eyes now and those of his brothers is that his are lighter brown than theirs are.

Its a genetics thing, I just learned about this in one of my classes actually!  It means that you and your husband both passed on a recessive gene to your son and the recessive gene was carrying the gene that gave him blue eyes.  Brown eyes are a dominant gene so it explains why the majority of your family have brown eyes.  I would maybe look back in your family tree if you're really curious and see if you can find someone on both sides that would have passed the gene on.
