  1. I just bought the Sony a200k from Best Buy for $500. Its a nice entry level DSLR and there are a boat load of older lenses from the Minolta brand that fit it. The camera body itself is fairly easy to work. One great advantage is that it has in an camera shake reducing feature. Other camera companies put this into individual lenses which drive up the price of each lense. So buying this will make save you about $100 per lense by having the technology in the camera.

  2. You won't be able to find the XSi for $700!

Try the slightly older version, the Canon Rebel XTi. Most of the students at the Art Institute use this camera.

  3. I have the Sony A-100 very nice camera but doesn't do real well in low light. The newer ones have fixed this slight problem.

  4. Canon and Nikon have a bigger selection of lenses than the other brands.  I would highly recommend the Canon Rebel XTi.  I have one and really like it.   But what you should do is go to a good camea store and hold that one and the Nikon you mentioned in your hands.  Try the controls and take some pictures.  See which one feels right to you.  You will know when you handle them which is the right one for you!   Happy shopping!

  5. I have a Canon EOS 400D its been awesome, loved it since the day i got it. i just looked on the US ebay and found this link it looks like a great deal...

makes me wish i lived in the US you get so much more for your money.

    hope this helps

  6. ok i strongly recommend the nikon cuz i just bought one and they are the best quality

  7. Try the Canon Rebel XSi.  It has 12 megapixels, and a 3.5 fps burst rate.  I prefer canon over Nikon just because I have lenses for Canon.  Keep in mind, once you start buying lenses for one brand, they won't fit into the other.  So, if you buy Nikon lenses, than you can't switch to Sony or Canon without getting rid of all your lenses.  Hope it helps, cheers.
