  1. For automobile insurance the quick way to get a fantastic quote is do a rate comparison on car policies. Make sure that you choose similar policies with the same limits, car type, zip code, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I usually recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have big name insurers and can give several quotes on car insurance polices.

  2. The car is covered as long as you give permission to use it. The company probably will add him to the policy and raise your rates though. The other concern is the policy limits, if your coverage is lower than his(very common) he may have his assets at risk. If you live in the same household and are a minor... its possible his company can also be forced to pay after your Geico limit runs out. Its pretty typical for Geico to sell very low limits, so your father should also be concerned whether or not there is enough coverage.... not just you being concerned about whether or not you have coverage.

  3. If you give him permission to drive your auto, then yes he's covered, but if he gets into another acc. in your auto, your insuance comp. may want him added to the policy or excluded.

  4. It would be covered by your insurance company up to your liability limits, because he was driving your vehicle with your permission.  If you live with your father, he has implied permission to use your vehicle and only your liability limits would apply so anything above your limits, both he & you could be sued for the remainder of the damages.  His liability limits would not apply to any vehicle (other than the vehicles that are listed on his policy) available for his regular use.  If you do not live together & he has a serious accident & he does not have regular permission to use your vehicle, then if he has higher liability limits than you do, his can be excess above yours.

If you & your father have matching limits (which I always tell my insureds with separate policies in the same household to have), then this is not an issue.

  5. I think it is but you might want to check your policy and see if you have coverage for guest drivers

  6. As long as he has permission to drive your veh he would be covered under you insurance. In most cases when someone is driver another persons veh, and they are involved in an accident in that veh, the coverage from that veh would cover the accident. Now if your coverage on that veh was not enough to pay for any damages, or injuries for the other party. The insurance company may go after your fathers insurance company to cover the diff. The only time your coverage from your veh follows you to another veh is when you use a rental veh.So if you drive another persons car there coverage on the veh is what would pay for damages.
